For the physicians at SGF, helping patients who are having trouble conceiving extends beyond the exam room. Having the treatment available is one side of the coin, while actually being able to access the care is the other. To address the concerns of access to care through insurance coverage, many SGF physicians have testified before local and national lawmakers with the goal to create legislation that will help patients gain the insurance coverage they would need to move forward with treatment. Additionally, SGF endorses and supports the mission of select 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organizations dedicated to advancing patient advocacy, patient access to care, and fertility research.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association
Shady Grove Fertility is a visionary partner with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. RESOLVE was established in 1974 and remains the only nationwide non-profit organization established to promote reproductive health and to ensure equal access to all family building options for those who are experiencing infertility or other reproductive disorders.
Since establishing a partnership with RESOLVE, SGF has helped to raise not only awareness but also more than $200,000. SGF provides support for the Night of Hope, a celebration of the passionate people and organizations who support RESOLVE’s mission and supports RESOLVE’s National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), which aims to reduce stigma and educate the public about reproductive health. Additionally, SGF supports RESOLVE programming, such as support groups, educational content, public awareness initiatives, and advocacy efforts to ensure that family building options are available to everyone.
Together RESOLVE and SGF work to make a difference you can see at Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. At this annual event, our physicians speak directly with members of Congress to educate and testify on behalf of fertility patients at Advocacy Day.
SGF’s Executive Senior Medical Officer, Eric Widra, M.D., has served on the RESOLVE Board of Directors since 2016. SGF physicians Jason G. Bromer, M.D., and Issac E. Sasson, M.D., Ph.D., serve on RESOLVE’s Physicians Council alongside Dr. Widra.
The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation
A long-time partner of SGF, the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of families battling infertility. Through education and outreach, the Foundation supports families struggling with infertility and strives to educate outside communities about relevant and related issues. In addition, the Cade Foundation provides financial assistance to families pursuing infertility treatment or domestic adoption through their Family Building Grants worth up to $10,000. This dual support approach distinguishes the Foundation as the only organization of its kind in the nation.
SGF physicians, Jason Bromer, M.D., Shruti Malik, M.D., and Rebecca Chason, M.D., serve on the Board of Trustees, as well as Stephanie Beall, M.D., Ph.D., who serves on the Foundation’s Advisory Council.
The Bob Woodruff Foundation
US Fertility has partnered with The Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) to drive awareness of discounted fertility treatments for veterans with service-related injuries. Through this partnership, US Fertility is proud to support a network-wide discount of 25% on services for our veterans with service-related injuries affecting their fertility, complementing fertility care provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
BWF was founded in memory of reporter Bob Woodruff who sustained life-threatening injuries from a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq. Since 2006, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has led an enduring call to action for people to meet the emerging and long-term needs of today’s veterans. To date, BWF has invested over $80 million to Find, Fund and Shape™ programs that have empowered impacted veterans, service members, and their family members, across the nation.

The Howard and Georgeanna Jones Foundation for Reproductive Medicine
Shady Grove Fertility and US Fertility proudly support and endorse The Howard and Georgeanna Jones Foundation for Reproductive Medicine, the nation’s preeminent medical foundation that funds research and innovation in fertility treatment.
Drs. Howard W. and Georgeanna Segar Jones, pioneers of reproductive medicine and founders of what is known today as the SGF Jones Institute in Norfolk, Virginia, created a legacy for the Jones Institute as a home for many ‘firsts,’ including the first baby born from in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the United States in 1981.
To keep pace with the evolving field of reproductive medicine, Drs. Howard and Georgeanna Jones created the independent Jones Foundation in 1985. Today, it is maintained as a legacy to their unparalleled contributions to the field of reproductive medicine and is uniquely positioned to fund novel research for fertility therapies for deserving scientists and organizations throughout the United States.
This legacy is particularly important to SGF and USF following their years of mentorship promoting Single Embryo Transfers for healthy pregnancy outcomes following infertility care.
In support of the Jones Foundation, SGF and USF:
- Endorse the Foundation’s research efforts and funding
- Are active participants in the Foundations Medical Advisory Boards,
- Provides medical advice and consultation to Jones Rounds educational seminars,
- Participate in the annual Council of Physicians and Scientist meetings, and
