Our in vitro fertilization (IVF) lab, including embryology, endocrine, and andrology labs, in Tampa Bay at our Westshore location is among the largest and most advanced labs in the region.
About
SGF Tampa Bay’s embryology lab is equipped with the latest technology to give patients every advantage on their journey to conceive, including HEPA-filtered clean air ventilation systems, heated work stations that simulate the In Vivo (Latin for “within the living”) environment, anti-vibration tables that prevent harm to specimens should the table shake, highly sophisticated inverted microscopes to better evaluate embryo growth and development, RI witness system to assure chain of custody, and advanced incubators and media, among many others.
SGF Tampa Bay’s IVF lab is updated with the very latest technology and is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART). Offering a beautiful open space and panoramic view of the city, our IVF lab is the perfect place for the greater Tampa community to build the family of their dreams.

Meet the IVF lab director at SGF Tampa Bay: Hyo Lee, Ph.D., HCLD
Hyo Lee, Ph.D., HCLD, is a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director, certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). She earned her doctorate and master’s degree focusing on multi-disciplinary research in Oocyte Mechanics/Biophysics and Reproductive Biology at Johns Hopkins University.

Vanessa Silva is a certified Embryology and Andrology Scientist by the American Association of Bioanalysis. With over 20 years of experience in reproductive healthcare, she serves as the lab manager at SGF Tampa Bay.

Because of our commitment to these procedures, SGF has never had an incorrect identification. Patients can rest assured that their cryopreserved materials are safe at our IVF lab in Tampa Bay.
Natural disaster safety measures
During hurricanes and other natural disasters, SGF Tampa Bay does their utmost to insure the protection of your eggs, sperm, and embryos. Any embryos, eggs, or sperm in our incubators are transferred to our liquid nitrogen cryotanks, which have enough liquid nitrogen to last at least 7 days. These tanks do not require electricity in the event of a prolonged power outage.
