Biography

Ricardo A. Yazigi, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago), graduating magna cum laude in 1978. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology/infertility and has more than 25 years of clinical experience. He did his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Sótero del Río Hospital, Chile, and at State University of New York at Nassau County Medical Center, NY. He pursued a research fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, CT, and a clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Yazigi was the head of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Temple University School of Medicine, PA, from 1991 to 1997 and joined the Greater Baltimore Medical Center Fertility Center in Baltimore, MD, in 1997. He is currently assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Yazigi has published numerous scientific papers and has lectured both in the United States and abroad.

He has received a number of national and international research awards and is a member of national and international medical specialty societies. Dr. Yazigi has served as ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the Journal of Pelvic Surgery. He is trained in robotic surgery (da Vinci laparoscopy) for fertility surgical procedures.
