Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association hosted their annual Night of Hope in New York, a night designed to honor those that have made efforts to promote and reproductive health and support those experiencing infertility. This year’s event was hosted by Kyra Phillips of HLN and John Roberts with FOX News. Kyra and John are married and suffered from infertility. After going through IVF, they are now the proud parents of twins, Sage and Kellan, making them the perfect emcees for the Night of Hope.
Several Shady Grove Fertility team members were able to attend the event including Amanda Segal, International Patient Liaison. “What an amazing evening, seeing physicians come together, pharmaceutical groups come together, and patients who have been impacted so deeply by RESOLVE all come together for the common cause of fixing infertility,” says Amanda.
Other team members that were able to attend the event were Dr. David Saffan of our Annandale office, Tasha Newsome, Columbia Office Supervisor and Clinical Research Coordinator, Allison Metzger, Marketing Manager, and Mark Segal, Shady Grove Fertility’s CEO.
The evening was full of highlights, including honoring Lindsay Nohr Beck with the Barbara Eck Founders Award. Lindsay was diagnosed with cancer in her 20s and discovered there was little information available for those interested in preserving their fertility through cancer treatment. As a result, she founded Fertile Hope, a company designed to help cancer patients and survives address their reproductive needs. LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, acquired Fertile Hope and Lindsay now serves as LIVESTRONG’s Cancer & Fertility Advisor.
Other honorees include P& G, NPR, Jennifer Ludden (NPR Correspondent), Marisa Penaloza (NPR Producer), Kelly Damron (RESOLVE volunteer), Redbook, and many more. Click here to learn more about all the award winners.
